This is a drug profile rather than a new trial. It summarises the evidence for the 40 mg doxycycline capsule, which delivers a dose below the level that kills bacteria and works by damping inflammation instead. Across two large placebo-controlled trials, 16 weeks of treatment reduced inflammatory rosacea lesions more than placebo, with a difference showing by the first check-in at week 3. Raising the dose to the usual antibacterial 100 mg added no further benefit. Because it summarises the same two trials reported elsewhere in this library, treat it as background on the drug rather than as separate evidence.
