HIFU vs Morpheus8
HIFU is the no-needle option, aimed at lift. Focused ultrasound heats tissue deep under the skin without breaking the surface, so there is almost nothing to see afterwards. Morpheus8 uses needles to place radiofrequency heat below the surface, so it treats texture and acne scars as well as mild laxity. Pick HIFU if a soft jawline is the only complaint and you cannot take time off; pick Morpheus8 if the surface of your skin also needs work.
What it is
Sound energy is focused to a point deep in the tissue, where it creates small spots of heat. The skin surface is left intact.
Fine needles deliver radiofrequency heat below the skin's surface, so the heat is placed rather than aimed.
What you do

Depth is the real difference
HIFU reaches the deepest: It is designed to heat the firm layer of tissue that sits beneath the fat, which is the layer a surgeon tightens in a facelift. That is why it is described as a lift rather than a resurfacing.
Morpheus8 works in the skin and just below it: That is shallower, but it is the layer where texture and acne scars live, so it improves the surface as well as the firmness.
The two aims are different, not competing: One tries to pull the lower face up. The other tries to make the skin itself thicker, smoother and tighter.
Skin tone and skin type
Neither one uses light, so neither targets pigment: Both are generally considered safer across skin tones than light-based devices, which work by aiming energy at colour.
Very thin faces are the exception to watch: HIFU heats deep tissue including fat, and in a face with little of it to spare, that can leave a hollow look. Say so if you are naturally very slim.
Which to pick
Choose HIFU if the jawline and neck are the whole complaint: Especially if you cannot take days off, and especially if your skin is otherwise smooth.
