Out went sodium lauryl sulfate. Out went three parabens. Out went propylene glycol. In came sodium cocoyl isethionate — a much milder surfactant — plus niacinamide and panthenol.
The current ingredient list is ten items long, fragrance-free, and genuinely gentle. The old formula that people are nostalgic for contained SLS and three parabens, and was sold for sensitive skin. It was never the gold standard it is remembered as.
