One-line finding

Hyaluronic acid filler lasted longer and needed less product than older collagen filler for smile lines.

Plain-language summary

In this study, 138 people had one type of filler on each side of the face: hyaluronic acid on one side and older cow-based collagen on the other. Six months later, the hyaluronic acid side looked better in most patients and needed less product to reach the same result. Both were well tolerated. This trial helped make hyaluronic acid the standard filler used today.
