One-line finding

Low-dose doxycycline roughly halved the relapse rate of rosacea bumps versus placebo.

Plain-language summary

After clearing their rosacea, patients took either low-dose (40 mg) doxycycline or a placebo pill for 40 more weeks. Only about 14% on doxycycline relapsed, compared with about 28% on placebo. The dose is too low to act as an antibiotic and works mainly by reducing inflammation, which helps limit antibiotic overuse. It also caused few side effects.
